Death Claim
  • Proceeds for policies under Section 73 of the Conveyancing and Law of Property Act will be paid to the trustee(s).

  • Policies placed under Assignment will have proceeds paid to the Assignee(s). Assignee must provide us with Assignment Deed.
    A certified true copy of the Estate Duty Clearance Certificate* if death is before 15 Feb 2008.

  • Death Claim of up to S$150,000/- can be advanced to "Proper Claimant" as defined under Section 61 of the Insurance Act, Singapore. The proof of entitlement is as follows:

To release the balance claim proceeds, all claimants must provide us with a certified true copy of the Estate Duty Clearance Certificate*, Grant of Letters of Administration or Grant of Probate and Schedule of Property.

* Estate Duty Clearance Certificate is not required for death occurred on or after 15 Feb 2008.

Estate Duty Clearance Certificate and Grant of Letters of Administration or Grant of Probate can be sighted and certified as true copy by AXA's Customer Service Officer at its Head Office or by a lawyer.

Nomination of Beneficary (effective on 1 Sep 2009)

Section 49L – Irrevocable nomination

All insurance proceeds to be paid to trustee to be distributed to the beneficiaries under the policy.

If there is no trustee, then the following applies:

  1. any beneficiary under that nomination who has attained 18 years old;
  2. otherwise, a parent or legal guardian, not being the policy owner, of any beneficiary under that nomination who is below 18 years old;
  3. if there is no surviving beneficiaries the personal representatives of the estate of any beneficiary under that nomination who is deceased

Section 49M – Revocable nomination

Only Death claim proceeds will follow the rules set out above under Section 49L. All other insurance benefits will be paid to the trustee(s), assignee(s) or policy owner where applicable.

Total and Permanent Disability Claim, Major Illness Claim, Minor / Juvenile Illness Claim, Hospitalization Claim, Accident Claim

Payment to be made to Policyholder, Assignee or Trustee based on the party applicable on the policy.

Note: For any CPF funded policy in the event of a TPD and Major illness claim, the applicable insurance proceeds will be paid back to Policyholder's respective CPF account.
